This looks cool! But it is way way to over priced!
I can get a sketch book for 1 and it has perfect quality!
Yes I know it's numbered and has dots for precisness but still it's way overpriced!
Trust me my sketch book is very good quality and I got it for less than a dollar!

I really liked it, well made and balanced. But I'd like to know if you plan on getting the Master-Sized one, so many things I could do on that one~

To people who are complaining about the dots, just stop. They are very light and willnot screw with anything you drew unless you draw so lightly that things barely show up on the paper. They lay out a grid that can be used as a reference so you can get spacing and position right with whatever you're drawing.

Again, the dots are really light. Unless you're at the point where fuzz on your shirt infuriates you because you've been having a bad day or whatever, you will not be bothered by them—or practically notice them.

...Why dots? You can easily buy a proper sketchbook that's high quality for the same price in any art store. Having the DA logo is great, but the fact that the pages are littered with dots makes it a complete waste to anyone that isn't just scribbling pencil graffiti.

I was really excited about this until I saw the inside photos. What a let down for a product.

Actually, the dots excite the FUCK out of people who draw and design things that are symmetrical or require very precise proportions without wanting actual heavy grid lines. So, you know, since there are more notebooks in the world without dots than with, go buy those and quite complaining.

I don't understand the dots thing...is it for cursive writing or can i be for art too? 8o Won't it appear when you scan?

It's like some kind of grid, for designing, instead of squared grid. But it's only for sketching of course...

No, they are light enough to use if you do ANY cleanup digitally after scanning. So not just for sketching.

Neither am I, really, but if you are scanning anything in it's not that hard to adjust contrast and such to tidy things up. And you are right in that it's not like you are going to strip pages out to put in a gallery.

I don't understand the big deal. Yeah it's nice how it has a table of contents, numbered pages, stickers and labels. But isn't this a tad expensive? You could get a more affordable note/sketchbook and organize it. And why does it have dots on the pages? Seems like that'd be annoying.

It definately is too expensive, when it comes down to drawing this is useless and probably a waste to buy for any professional artist

Exactly. It seems like the dots would interfere with the design. People just like it because it has a nice big "dA" on it and a fancy name.

Actually, people who draw symmetrical stuff, and things with precise proportions (LIKE ME) fucking adore dots. They are very light, and better than a grib precisely because they DON'T show. Also, this is a notebook, not a pack of paper, so it's not like people are going to be doing things in this that they go and hang in a gallery right after.

The dots are barely noticeable, there for a reference if you want to make sure you've got the spacing or position right, and it's a good-quality notebook. I have a notebook that's about the same size, and cost just a little bit less, and the quality is so much better in the dA notebook that it makes mine look kinda crappy :/ also I think the dA one has more pages... It's just an all-around good notebook.

Again, the dots would not "interfere with the design" as you put it.

Still too much for a notebook. Moleskine suits similar purpose, is of superior quality, and still is cheaper than this.

I'm not sure where you're getting that info from, but a lot of people prefer the quality of Leuchtturm paper to Moleskine (which can be hit-or-miss). The dA price is a little marked up, but it's not bad if you get the bundle.

I meant info on the quality. By all accounts, it's superior to Moleskine, which has frankly declined in quality in recent years. :\ The price, especially for the bundle, is about equal to non-dA-logo Leuchtturm notebooks. If you really need the quality, you'd have to be willing to pay more, but not everyone needs high-end notebooks. I use scrap paper most of the time, but these are really nice for travel.

It's actually not that much more than most sketchbooks if you look at the dimensions and number of pages. Unless I'm unaware of some super cheap sketchbook people are using, by basic mathematics this notebook is about the same price per amount of drawing space.

Also, where are you getting your moleskine sketchbooks from? Because I just went to check the price on the site and it was quite expensive for relatively tiny notebooks.

Why a note book? Why not a normal sized sketche/art book I'd love to buy that if it was affordable.

I think its a multipurpose book. The dots are for notes and the dotes are barely noticeable for drawings. I guess.. ^^;

No, the dots are for drawing. Not everyone draws totally freeform. Some of us need symmetry and such...

True but it looks to be kinda small in the picture. For it's price I'd rather have a nice large sketch book. Things like lines and dots bug me even if their barely noticeable.

The dots are really really small and light (I ordered a small notebook, the dotless one, and they sent me one of these by mistake) and it actually is quite large. Also, it opens so that the pages can be pressed flat in the middle. ... So you can basically have a large sheet if you want. But it's a notebook for just jotting down ideas and stuff if you're on the go, or for drawing insanely awesome stuff if you don't want to draw it on a huge sheet of paper.
Also, the quality is really good. It's got a nice solid feel to it... Like you could throw it at someone and knock them out, and then just go back to doodling.
