New! Cubism Messenger Bag Design Challenge!
What comes to mind when you hear the name Pablo Picasso? That’s right, it’s time to break it down, Cubism-style! For the first time ever, we are hosting a Messenger Bag Design Challenge! We want you to create an original design for the flap of the bag in the style of Cubism.
For this challenge, we are defining Cubism as an art style in which instead of depicting objects from one viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from multiple viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context. Often, the surfaces intersect at seemingly random angles, removing a coherent sense of depth. The background and object planes interpenetrate one another to create a shallow ambiguous space.

So good and so simple. Pixel hearts: solid! Inspired by the phrase, I went to my sketchbook to figure out how I would execute this piece in my own style. After filling up page after page with a Chisel Tip and a large Paint Marker, I just wasn't finding what I was visualizing in my mind.

New Fashionable Styles: Apparel Collection 2013There are many times as an artist when you get to work on a set of illustrations that work equally well on their own and as part of a larger set. Although the individual pieces may be thematically different from each other, they follow a common visual look and feel. This is where the individual artistic style that you’ve practiced for hundreds of hours really gets to shine. Recently I was lucky enough to find myself in this situation, and I’m honored to announce the resulting set of illustrations printed on really cool HoodieBuddie™ outerwear.
The three different garments are very different in material, cut, and area for print, but the illustrations on each have visual harmony with the current collection. Apparel Collection: ALL dAY EVERY dAY“ALL dAY EVERY dAY” represents the artist’s constant love for making art. This drive and determination is always working in the back of our minds, always noticing inspiring things, always adding notes and drawings to notebooks, and always thinking creatively.  Recently at deviantART, we tried out a small-scale collaborative program, bringing in outside artists to illustrate pieces for the seasonal clothing line. what on earth??? i am really dissapointed seeing that DA has lost its eye on some natural exquisite talent...
something called rare deep beauty in design...
wearing an artwork never before seen rather then having it like a advertisement propoganda...
...don't want to hurt anyone's feelings ...these aren´t bad but.... im sorry this is just not right...

exactly considering the amount of work so many did...
and the need to see something so much more different...

There were many designs so much better then either of these . Talk about clueless . I had no entry or friends in this . Were the judges all 12 years old ? I really feel bad for all the people who spend time on the really good designs .

Congrats to the winners. I don't wanna have a bad attitude to the people running the show. It does take time and effort. I would like to see an end to the popularity contest voting though. It seems that unless you had buddies looking for your entry, you'd get buried so deep in the pages of entries that no one would find you. All and all I doubt that I would enter another contest because not even including my own, I saw some that far surpassed the victors so I could not begin to guess what they might be looking for.
