hmm well we are allowed to borrow those at my college and it fits snugly in my bag which is a lot smaller than the bags here.
i think if they can fit anything A4 they can generally fit the A4 sized tablets.

Whoa scratch that you're at a frigging TAFE? Out at Hornsby?? The day TAFE funds proper tablets for their students is the day I drop dead LOL

(former Sydfag here, sup!)

my tafe specialises in design and yes they allow us to borrow tablets, SLR camera's etc. (their standards on the equiptment we use is so high, i guess they came to realise not every student owns this shit -.- ) we cant take them out of the tafe grounds but all we have to do is leave our student card or a license.

Huh, interesting! I haven't been in the country for a few years, but working in VFX, I've heard really abysmal things about the way TAFE handles design courses. One early 3D course just had teachers pointing students to online tutorials, for example. We were literally turning people away that had TAFE certificates listed on their resume, without any kind of real work. Kind of terrifying (;゚Д゚)

Glad to hear that's (most likely) changed.

well... it still is kind of the same in that aspect. It's all going a bit awry at the moment. They have cancelled all the fine art courses because the government doesnt consider them career related and just for "personal deelopment" which is offensive to me who wants to be an illustrator and was waiting to enrol. (the teachers are not happy either)
they are trying to compress the courses into the minimum amount of time they can which makes the workload so hectic too... last year one of our days was 11 hours long. we started at 9 and finished at 8 OTL
We dont get pointed to tutorials but end up looking at them anyway because theres so many foreign people in the class who need the entire class lesson to have the teacher help them because they didnt understand a work of the brief, and the class is around 20 people too.
now they are trying to tell us that the full time course we have been doing for 1 1/2 years is not considered full time because its only 19 hours face to face study and 4 hours self directed so they want to take back our concessions and we may not student benefits even though its their fault for advertising as full time :(
and on top of all of this i have seen teacher-made petitions around the TAFE because the government is trying to replace out teachers (who have had prior industry experience) with cheaper "tutors" who are just regular people who dont know jack, and wont be able to teach us anything but from a textbook essentially : (
im so glad i finish the middle of this year with my diploma so i can start working full time T_T

An A4 tablet means the active area is A4. The actual size of the hardware is larger. You must be borrowing smaller tablets. I'd be kind of surprised if they're just letting you cart $600-some worth of A4 Intuos around in a backpack, lol

I know what it means i have one xD my intuos 4 and 5 is "a4" and the active area is only some amount of inches wide. I mean the entire size of the tablet that is A4. both my intuos 4 and intuos 5 are about the exact size of an A4 page

Yeah, that's what I'm saying - the tablet Amy's talking about; she has one where the active area is the size of an A4 page. Add on some more for the size of the actual piece of hardware. I have an old intuos 3 A4wide kicking around somewhere and yeah, the longest dimension of the active area is the same as the longest side of an A4 page.

I suspect that you might be confusing the models! Hit up Wacom's site to see what I mean

it really wont.
the biggest this can hold is 16.5" tablets
so a 17.3" has no hope of fitting.

Oh okay i got confused i thought you meant the actual full size of the tablet as A4 (because when i got my two intuos 4 and 5 smalls they were advertised as A4 sized. Not the active area the whole thing)
you know to be honest i dont think this bag is so great to worry about it anyway. they slap words like "pro" all over it and everyone wants it but you can get cheaper bags with more space and better material anyway 'n'.
It's weird how expensive these are especially since you'd be walking around advertising deviantart for free.
